Ohio Senate Bill 104

On November 27, 2024, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed into law Senate Bill (SB) 104, adding Ohio to the list of a dozen states with restrictions on bathroom access by transgender individuals.

This legislation will take effect on February 25, 2025. The law – officially the “Protect All Students Act” though coined the “Bathroom Bill” by many – outlines specific guidelines and restrictions for the use of restrooms, locker rooms, changing rooms, and shower rooms in Ohio schools. The law’s provisions related to facility restrictions were folded into a broader legislative package addressing students’ ability to earn college credit prior to college.

Our campus will continually work diligently to maintain safe, respectful spaces that honor the dignity of every individual. As we move forward, we will ensure that our procedures and practices align with both state and federal law, ensuring full compliance while advocating for inclusivity, safety, and equality for everyone.

We will work to provide clear signage, maintain privacy, and continue to offer options for those who may prefer additional privacy or accommodations. Our goal is to foster a community where all individuals feel respected, supported, and free to engage in their academic and campus life without fear of discrimination.
